Our hiking adventure starts in Kotor, from there, we begin a steady climb that first leads us up to the Vrmac Fortress—a historic Austro-Hungarian stronghold overlooking the bay. After visiting the fortress, the trail continues along the entire ridge of Vrmac. As we walk across the mountain ridge, the views constantly change—first opening toward Tivat and its blue bay, then back to the medieval town and winding coastline of Kotor. Step by step, the whole panorama of the Boka Bay unfolds in front of us, offering some of the most impressive sights in Montenegro. After about two and a half hours of hiking, we reach Sveti Ilija, the highest point of Vrmac at 785 meters. From the summit, we take a well-deserved break, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and capture unforgettable photos. The only sounds around are the mountain breeze, distant birds, and maybe a few friendly goats grazing nearby.
